My Story

I was introduced to ceramics my junior year of high school. I continued my senior year, spending my lunch, open hour, independent study, and Teacher Assistant time working in the studio - expanding my skills as I explored new shapes and techniques throughout the creation process.

When I began at St. Olaf College in Northfield, MN, I took the offered ceramics courses and studied under Paul Briggs. Professor Briggs taught me so much and pushed me to grow. Though I will always have more to learn, I completed my ceramics courses at St. Olaf with a greater understanding of ceramics and a strong appreciation for the art and profession.

Today, I am a Spanish Teacher in the Twin Cities area of Minnesota and do ceramics in my free time. I find ceramics to be a relaxing outlet for my creativity. Making pottery has never once felt like a job but instead a time to play and enjoy - which makes creating so much easier.

RK Delta Pottery is a place for me to share my joy with the world and for any one to have access to it.

My Promise to You

When I became more serious about ceramics, I started purchasing pieces from other artists. However, as a young college student, I found the pieces I was enamored with were beyond my price range by a long shot (A mug for $75!? - understandable, but not accessible). It became my goal to make my pottery accessible to anyone. My commitment to you as a customer of RK Delta Pottery is to price my products fairly and with the intention that anyone could purchase them.
